RARE QING DYNASTY CARVED ZITAN JEWELRY BOX. Second half 19th century. The rectangular case carved overall with hexagonal floral rosettes and fitted with a pair of drawers with reeded fronts, each with a demilune carved bone handle. The sides applied with carved bone simulated latches. SIZE: 8″ h x 11″ w of case x 7-1/2″ d of case. PROVENANCE: Property of Lady Fujin, wife of Crown Prince Aixinjueluo Pujun (1886-1929). From the private collection of the grandniece of the Last Emperor Puyi (reign 1906-1917) of the Qing Dynasty. Granddaughter of Puji and great-great granddaughter of the Dowager Empress Cixi (reign 1861-1908). CONDITION: Very fine original condition. 9-22146 (12,500-15,000)
