*REMINGTON MODEL 81 POLICE SEMI-AUTO RIFLE. Cal. 35 Rem. SN 10014. Blue finish with 22″ shrouded bbl, silver bead front sight & flat top adjustable open rear sight. Left side of receiver is roll marked “POLICE GUN – PROPERTY OF” & engraved “NASHVILLE, TENN. POLICE DEPT.” & is stamped on left front edge “MNPD 013”. This is for the Monroe, LA Police Dept., apparently they obtained this rifle from Nashville & consignor purchased it from Monroe. It has its orig Peace Officer Equipment Co. 15-rnd magazine, serial numbered to this rifle with a “3”. These rifles were initially issued with three of these magazines with matching numbers. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl & receiver retain 96-97% strong bright orig blue. Wood is sound with numerous small nicks, dings & scratches & moderate wear on forearm. Stock has had sling swivel stud relocated. Magazine retains about 90% orig blue. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. 4-57936 JR372 (1,500-2,500)
