CAMILLO GIOJA BARBERO (Italian, 20th Century) THE WATER GIRL. Fine watercolor shows a young woman dressed in country Italian outfit near a well with large brass handled water carrier. Three chickens are at her feet and she looks down at them. A landscape mountain background with buildings nestled in the valley. Signed lower right “Camillo Gioja-Roma”. Housed in a fine wide gesso decorated frame which has been repainted. SIZE: Sight: 20-1/2″ x 13-1/2″. PROVENANCE: Private Boston area collection. CONDITION: Foxing with some browning to top and right edge, otherwise very good. 9-97825 (1,000-1,500)
