GIOVANNI BATTISTA FILOSA (ITALIAN, 1850-1935) THE PERFECT SELECTION. Outstanding watercolor interior scene shows three beautifully dressed young women in an elegant room setting. The seated girl in pink dress holds a necklace in her hands while the other two look on. A decorated jewelry casket with lid open stands atop a marble top console table. The background with a tall fancy pier mirror, red walls and the ceiling with a large crystal chandelier. Signed lower right “Giovi Filosa”. Housed in an outstanding period gesso decorated gilt frame with glass. NOTE: A remarkable and colorful detailed watercolor scene, one of the best that we have seen. SIZE: Sight: 28-1/2″ x 21-1/4″.
