*SCARCE SMITH & WESSON FIRST MODEL 44 HAND EJECTOR TRIPLE LOCK DA REVOLVER. SN 13668. Cal. 44 Spcl. Nickel finish with 4″ bbl, integral half moon front sight with caliber marking on left side of bbl and address & patent numbers on right side. Sideplate has the Smith & Wesson logo and it is mounted with smooth deep gold S&W medallion pearl grips. This model hand ejector was made only 1907-1915 with 15,375 produced in that time frame in four bbl lengths and eight calibers in both blue & nickel finish. PROVENANCE: John Irwin Estate Collection. CONDITION: Fine, all matching except grips which are unnumbered. Overall retains 92-94% orig factory nickel with some light holster wear on muzzle and end of ejector rod housing. Balance of revolver is slightly dull from handling especially on cylinder. Left grip has a chipped heel, otherwise grips are sound with great fire & color.
