*COLT ARMY SPECIAL DA REVOLVER WITH ORIGINAL BOX. SN 406129. Cal. 38 Spcl. Blue finish with 5″ tapered rnd bbl, integral half moon front sight and grooved top frame fixed rear sight. Mounted with diamond checkered walnut grips with deep left & right rampant Colt medallions, numbered on inside to another revolver. That number has been pencil lined through the middle and given the precision fit of these grips to this grip frame indicates it may have been done at the factory. Accompanied by its orig hinged lid, dark burgundy cardboard box with blue end label and is numbered to this revolver on the bottom. Lending credence to the thought that the deluxe grips are factory is the fact that the label has “RUBBER” overstamped and the part number “7638SB” overstamped in red ink. Hard rubber grips were standard for this model. This is a fairly common revolver in extraordinary condition with rare deluxe grips. CONDITION: Revolver appears to be new & unfired retaining virtually all of its high luster special polish blue finish with no apparent wear except the most faint cylinder line. Grips are equally crisp & new. Box has one broken corner in the lid with fuzzed & chipped edges, otherwise is intact with the bottom moderately soiled. 4-39254 JR302 (1,000-2,000)
