SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 45-90. SN 104105. Standard grade rifle with special order 28″ bbl, full magazine, half-nickel front sight with screw and semi-buckhorn rear sight. It has uncheckered wood with straight stock & crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl & magazine tube retain an even dark plum patina with a few light nicks & scratches and a small spot or two of light rust, a little heavier on the left side toward the muzzle. Receiver retains traces of case colors around the back of the loading gate with the balance silvered case colors mixed with dark patina. Light to moderate pitting on the left side. Lever & hammer retain traces of case colors. Wood is sound with a filled area on the forearm and others around the tang of the butt stock and retains most of a refinish. Good mechanics, bright shiny bore with a few very scattered spots of orange peel. 4-54892 (2,500-3,500)
