ORIENTAL FINELY CARVED AND DETAILED IVORY EAR OF CORN ON HARDWOOD STAND. Late 19th century, Japanese. Rendered partially shucked with patinated silk and with partial stalk. Fitted to a custom stand. Signed by maker. SIZE: Corn: 12-1/4″ l. Overall: 14-3/4″ l. PROVENANCE: From the private collection of Dorothy-Lee Jones. CONDITION: With nice color and patina, small areas of silk at tip of ear missing and with small losses in areas of stalk. Otherwise very good overall. 9-23305 (800-1,200)
