NEW ENGLAND SHERATON CARVED MAHOGANY LADY’S SECRETARY, PROBABLY MASSACHUSETTS. In two parts, the upper section with swan’s neck crest and brass rosette terminals centering three cast brass eagle finials above a pair of cupboard doors with reeded molding opening to an interior of three cubbies over three drawers above a pair of cock beaded aligned drawers stepped back on the mid-molded lower case with hinged lid opening to a baise lined writing surface and supported by lopers centering a long drawer over two similar recessed drawers flanked by rope twist columns on blocked plinths, the whole raised on bobbin and ring turned legs. PROVENANCE: From the Sewall Estate, Bath, Maine. SIZE: 67-1/2” h x 38” case w x 18” d. CONDITION: Retains original surface, old dry patina, some losses to reeded moldings, hardware replaced.
