ALBERT BIERSTADT (American, 1830-1902) VIEW OVERLOOKING MOUNTAINS. Small oil on wood panel scene shows a background of tall mountains with foreground valley and level ground. Signed lower left. Housed in a modern gilt frame with original wide inner liner. The back having a black crayon mark “362/2”. Also written in pencil “F.A.L. 212″. SIZE: 4″ x 6-3/4”. PROVENANCE: From a fine Quincy, Massachusetts home. CONDITION: The surface with losses to the surface paint with some wood grain showing through. 9-23916 (5,000-10,000)
