FRANK HOUGHTON (Canadian, late 19th Century) THE PROSPEROUS FARM. Outstanding large oil on canvas summer scene shows a farmhouse with several barns flanked by trees under blue and white cloud sky. Cows are leaving for the field while the farmer fills a wagon with hay. Signed lower right. Housed in a magnificent period gesso decorated gilt deep frame with gilt fancy liner. SIZE: 26″ x 44″. CONDITION: One small patch to reverse, some inpainting. Very good. 9-25494 (6,000-8,000)
