*WINCHESTER MODEL 1885 SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. Cal. 25-20ss. SN 101298. 28” oct number 3 bbl. This special order rifle was shipped as it is currently configured, March 3, 1906, with a close coupled dbl set trigger, graduated peep sight, Lyman #17 target front sight, Lyman spirit level in rear bbl seat and large Swiss buttplate. This is a very rare set of specifications. Stock is 4-3/4” high at buttplate instead of the normal 4-3/16”. CONDITION: Very good to fine with 80% thinning blue overall. 60% casehardening, all mixed with widely scattered specks of rust. Wood has minor dents and scratches. Buttplate retains almost all of its orig nickel plating. Mechanically fine. Bore is very dark. 4-30797 FS264 (5,000-6,000)
