*A.H. FOX CE GRADE SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 302929. Cal. 16ga, 28″ bbls, tapered, matted concave rib, dual white sighting beads, 2-1/2″ chambers, FULL/FULL choke, ejectors and dbl triggers. Top of right bbl marked “CHROMOX FLUID COMPRESSED STEEL” and left “MADE BY A.H. FOX GUN CO. PHILA. PA. U.S.A.” Side of each bbl has 1-1/2″ wedge of scroll engraving. Receiver has typical C grade engraving, foliate arabesque scrolls with oval marked “ANSLEY H. FOX” with 2 quail on left side and 2 woodcock on right side, setter on point center of bottom, and trigger plate with wheel of foliate arabesque scroll. Mounted with nicely figured straight-grain walnut, custom stock with checkered side panels, checkered pistol grip, hard rubber grip cap, serrated hard rubber buttplate, checkered splinter forend. Bore diameter: left -.660, right -.660. Bore restrictions: left -.028, right -.029. Wall thickness: left -.032, right -.033. Drop at heel: 3-1/8″, drop at comb:1-7/8″. Weight: 5lbs. 15oz. LOP 14-1/4″. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 95% of a fine restored blue finish, some minor nicks & dings and an area near center slightly thinning from carrying. Receiver retains 75-80% orig case colors, thinning and blending with silver patina across bottom. Trigger guard retains most of a fine, restored, blue finish. Custom stock has sharp checkering, a few minor handling marks and retains a fine, custom hand-rubbed finish. Forend is sound with nice checkering, a few handling marks and orig finish blended with hand-worn patina.
