HARRY HERMAN ROSELAND (American, 1868-1950) PASSING THE TIME. Oil on board interior scene shows an elderly woman wearing red shawl, white bonnet and apron and dark dress. She sits in a ladder-back side chair in front of a large empire style mahogany dresser. An umbrella stands up against the wall and a ball of yarn is seen on the ground. Signed lower right with an artist monogram. The board has a stamp “F. Devoe & Co.”. Written in pencil on back is “Harry Roseland” and the antique frame has a Harry Roseland name plaque.
