LOT OF NAZI TABLEWEAR. Lot includes 6 forks with eagle swastika / “DR” on the handle and “.910” purity mark on the reverse, along with #243. There are also 6 table knives and one butter knife with the same markings on the handle and stainless steel blades. There are two plain silver-plated napkin rings marked “DR” on one side and numbered #1 and #16. There is also a cruet set with the same eagle marking on ovals, front and back, stamped “ALPAK / 243” on the bottom. The crystal bottles are slightly different in size and probably came from two different sets. There is also a 39” x 63” tablecloth with the same design as the silverware & having the number 243 embroidered in red at one corner, and four napkins of the same design, 3 of which have the number 243 embroidered in the corner. Accompanying these items is documentation from the man who captured this service from Herman Goering’s “Deutsche Reichsbahn Salon Car 243”. This was part of Goering’s Treasure Train. There is also a short excerpt from a book regarding the capture of this train. CONDITION: Generally fine. Both cruets are chipped around the lip and one has some scratching as it is too large for the hole in the container. One of the napkins has a hole; otherwise fine. 4-54339 FS328 (2,500-3,500)
