VERY ELABORATE VICTORIAN MUSIC CABINET. This tall and ornate Eastlake transitional Victorian music cabinet has a fully carved crest, beveled mirror back, turned wooden spindles on the side and simulated gargoyle or dragonheads in the top crest. Each of the two rectangular doors have applied gesso ornamentation with musical motif. The cabinet on legs has a shelf below, two full length vertical doors which open to reveal six birch or maple pull out drawers. The patent date tag on the lower drawer indicates that it was patented in 1892. The cabinet is of hardwood with a mahogany colored finish. SIZE: 19-1/2” w x 14-1/2” d x approx. 62” h. CONDITION: Finish is worn in places, cabinet structurally good. A very fine example. 9-25701 (1,000-2,000)
