EXTREMELY RARE PRESENTATION PEDERSEN DEVICE MAGAZINE. Dimensionally standard Pedersen device magazine with full silver plating & made without a follower spring. Rear edge of magazine is engraved “J.D. PEDERSEN” and in script “Compliments of / Oneida Community, Ltd.” The Oneida firm was the manufacturer of these magazines & undoubtedly this was a presentation to the famous inventor of the Pedersen device. Consignor states that his father purchased this magazine along with a Pedersen device, tools, ammunition & accoutrements (being sold elsewhere in this auction) in 1980 from Mr. Alexander Montgomery. Mr. Montgomery was a well known & prolific collector of rare martial arms and other military related items. Consignor states that Mr. Montgomery was a direct descendant of the well-known Montgomery family for whom Montgomery County, Pennsylvania is named. Consignor also states that Mr. Montgomery had owned the Pedersen device & accessories along with this magazine from the early 1950’s. PROVENANCE: Alexander Montgomery; Alfred C. Laubsch, Sr. CONDITION: Very fine. Obviously unused showing only handling wear on high points & retains 75-80% orig silver finish.
