IMPORTANT GERMAN FIGURAL CANDELABRUM. Second half 19th century. Manufactured by the Royal Porcelain Manufactory, Berlin, Germany. The gilt-decorated base modeled with a woman in flowing gown within a C-scroll in the form of a leafy pedestal, supporting the porcelain top fitted with eight scrolling brass candle arms cast with leaftips, each arm terminating in reticulated porcelain bobeches, centering a gilt-decorated and painted flame finial. The pedestal base with a molded Bacchalian bust and polychrome painted with floral sprays. Marked beneath the base with a blue scepter beside an imperial globe over the initials “KPM”. SIZE: 30″ h. x 20″ dia. PROVENANCE: From an extensive private Gulf Coast collection. CONDITION: Very fine overall, with minor professional touch-ups to gilded leaftips.
