*RARE COLT MODEL 1905 SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. SN 5768. Cal. 45 ACP. Blue finish with 5″ bbl and orig fixed sights. Left side of frame has a slide stop and is mounted with diamond checkered walnut grips. Accompanied by one orig all blue magazine. This being a civilian model, it is made without grip safety. Only about 6,100 of these rare pistols were produced in period 1905-1911 and few are encountered today with high finish specimens being quite rare. PROVENANCE: John Irwin Estate Collection. CONDITION: Fine plus. Overall retains 80-85% glossy orig blue with the loss areas flaked to a light to medium patina and two areas of fine pitting on left side of slide. Front & back straps are moderately to heavily flaked & worn. Grips show moderate wear with a bruise on left side. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore with some fine frosting at chamber end. 4-36810 JR47 (3,000-5,000)
