WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38-56. SN 95924. Standard grade rifle with 26” oct bbl, full magazine, uncheckered straight grain, American walnut with straight grip & crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Bbl & magazine tube retain about 70-75% thin orig blue turning to brown patina with strong blue in sheltered areas. Receiver retains 50-60% faded case colors with the balance turned silver, gray on bottom. Lever retains 30-40% faded case colors in sheltered areas and on sides and hammer about 75% faded case colors. Wood is sound and retains all of a restored finish. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore with a few scattered spots of light pitting. 4-30578 JR358 (2,500-3,500)
