*FINE PRE-WAR COLT BULL’S EYE MATCH TARGET SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. SN MT2683. Cal. 22 LR. Blue finish with 6-5/8″ flat side heavy bbl, adjustable front & rear sights with a 3-ring bull’s eye target and “MATCH TARGET” on left side with “THE WOODSMAN” on front left side of receiver. Left side of receiver has usual markings and rampant Colt. Bottom edge of grip frame has the SN and it is mounted with orig elephant ear, checkered, silver medallion walnut grips. Accompanied by one orig 2-tone magazine with “MATCH TARGET MOD.” marked base. Also accompanied by the orig beveled edge, tapered pine wood block that was installed between the ears of the grip at the factory for shipping. Additionally accompanied by its orig dark maroon, hinged lid box numbered to this pistol. End of box has standard pre-war Match Target labels. Additionally accompanied by its orig target, hang tag, shooting suggestions pamphlet & instructions pamphlet. Also accompanied by the orig paper sleeve for a twisted wire handle bristle brush and envelope for an orig flat Colt screwdriver. And finally accompanied by an unusual 5-pc hard rubber screwdriver with three different size common screwdriver blades. This is an extremely fine and near complete, as sold, pre-war Match Target pistol. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Overall retains 98-99% crisp, orig, glossy Colt blue with only slight, very faint wear on left edge of muzzle. Grip has a tiny hairline below front screw escutcheon, otherwise is extremely fine plus with one small dent on left ear. Box has two broken corners in lid with worn edges & corners and some paper losses on lid, otherwise is sound. Labels are equally fine. 4-40679 JR126 (2,000-3,000)
