LOUIS XVI STYLE GILT BRONZE CHANDELIER. Late 19th-early 20th century. The bronze fixture cast with scrolling leaftips, having three C-scrolled, trumpet-form, two-light arms fitted with ruffled frosted glass shades, centering a pendant reticulated basket-form globe cast with flowerheads, the whole strung with crystal beadwork, suspended on cast-brass wreath-form chain links joined to the cast-brass ceiling cap mounted with three pendant cast-brass bell-form fittings, each with a ruffled frosted glass shade. SIZE: Approx. 43″ h. x 27″ overall dia., including shades. PROVENANCE: From an extensive private Gulf Coast collection. CONDITION: Recently rewired. The chandelier in very good overall condition, retaining original surfaces. Five of the six shades for the main body matching and in good condition, the sixth similar shade with damage to one ruffle. The shades for the upper tier are similar to the previous six and of the period, but not matching. 9-93554 (6,000-10,000)
