FINE PAIR ROCOCO ROSEWOOD LAMINATED SIDE CHAIRS. Circa 1860. In the manner of John Henry Belter, the matched pair of laminated rosewood Rococo Victorian side chairs, each with fancy open carved back with floral crest continuing to hip rests joined to the shaped overupholstered seat above the serpentine seat frame raised on frontal molded cabriole legs. SIZE: 35-1/2″ h. of back. 17″ h. of seat. PROVENANCE: From an extensive private Gulf Coast collection. CONDITION: Chairs retain original finish with restoration to backs at hip rests with bracing. The steamed backs with seven laminations, the seat frames and legs of rosewood and walnut. Good overall. 9-93503 (3,000-5,000)
