WAYNE BEAM MORRELL (American, 1923-) “DAYS POND LILIES”. Outstanding oil on masonite lily pond scene shows a small pond with tall fuchsia flowers lining the banks with grass and trees beyond. The water reflects the colorful flowers and sky. The foreground with colorful pink and white lilies having green leaves. Signed lower right “Wayne Morrell”. Housed in a fancy gilt decorated frame with white linen liner. Attached to reverse is a Rockport Art Association label. Also an exhibition label indicating it was Best in Show and received the Alden Bryan Memorial Award in that show. Written on back of board, “Exhibited in 1989 National ACAD Show “Sunlit Lilies” by Wayne Morrell Painted Days Pond, Aug. 20-1972″.
