Oil on canvas seascape shows a large three-mast ship with figures on deck plying through rough turquoise colored ocean with white spray. An interesting cloud and blue sky. All in pastel colors. Housed in what appears to be its original carved and silvered gilt frame. Purchased from Marine Arts Gallery, Salem, MA. SIZE: 24″ x 28-1/4″. PROVENANCE: Collection of Elwyn Dearborn, Medford, NJ; Portland, ME. CONDITION: All over craquelure which appears to be stable, otherwise very good. 9-96192 (2,000-4,000)
