WARREN W. SHEPPARD (American, 1858-1937) UNDER THE FULL MOON. Fine oil on canvas moonlit scene shows a tall ship sailing towards viewer under wavy ocean. The full moon casting a bright light reflecting on the ocean behind the ship. Colorful blue & pink sky. A two-mast sailboat can be seen on the horizon. Signed lower right and dated indistinctly. The back having an original inscription to canvas “To my friend John Schilling Jan. 1887 Warren Sheppard”. Housed in a fine gilt gesso decorated period frame. SIZE: 14″ x 12″.
