FINE CONTINENTAL ROCOCO GILTWOOD PIER MIRROR. Mid-19th century. The pierced and scrolled foliate rocaille cresting with central shell and pendant floral sprays, above the arched rectangular plate within the molded surround, the base molding with foliate scrolling joined to the shaped marble shelf, raised on a conforming floral-and-leaftip base, raised on scrolled cabriole legs. SIZE: 9′ overall h. x 39″ w. x 13″ d. PROVENANCE: From an extensive private Gulf Coast collection. CONDITION: Very fine overall. Original gilding with some touch-up. Gesso and carved elements intact with some professional restorations. 9-93538 (3,000-5,000)
