*SMITH & WESSON MARK I SEMI-AUTO CARBINE. Cal. 9 mm. SN 113. Unusual carbine with 10-1/4″ fluted bbl, blued receiver with unusual magazine box that houses the 20-rd magazine and also is the ejection chute for the fired cases. It has a tall thick front sight & a windage adjustable rear sight. Fitted with a Bakelite buttstock with serrated metal buttplate and sling loops around the bbl & on the left side of the butt with an orig brown leather sling. Left side of the butt has a red aluminum tag imprinted “EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS DO NOT LOAD OR FIRE”. CONDITION: Extremely fine, as new. Probably unfired, retains virtually all of its orig factory finish overall. A rare WWII era experiment that was never very successful. A few were purchased by the English and the U.S. Military experimented with them but never made any large purchases. 4-57047 JR615 (3,500-5,500)
