PAIR OF DELFT-STYLE CHARACTER JUGS. 20th century. Pair of jugs, most likely “Punch and Judy”, each with lids in the form of caps. Beneath each base, marked in underglaze blue are maker’s initials in script “TSL” above date “1750”. SIZE: 12-1/4″ h. PROVENANCE: From the private collection of Dorothy-Lee Jones. CONDITION: Very good overall. Male figure to glazing losses to end of nose and to toe of proper left shoe. Female figure with glazing loss in areas of top of bonnet. 9-23237 (1,000-1,500)
