RARE AND SUPERB CARVED WOOLY MAMMOTH CANE DEPICTING MISHA THE DANCING BEAR. Carved white bear with detailed fur with pleasant face. Thin gold gilt collar and the shaft is ebonized and has a 5” marvelous lacquer painting of Misha and his trainers playing horns while he dances. Coloring and quality is of what you would expect to find on Russian lacquered boxes. Misha was a European brown bear who was famous in Russian folk lore. SIZE: 34-1/2” l. Handle is 2-1/2” h x 1-1/2” w. CONDITION: Very good. 9-28182 (2500-3500)
