ERNEST FIENE (American, 1894-1965) END OF DAY-MONHEGAN. Oil on canvas scene shows a lobsterman pulling a lobster trap aboard a boat while another man rows away in a smaller boat. The sky in yellow, gold and gray and the cliffs hide one small fishing shack. Wonderful colors in the ocean with reflections in the sky. Signed lower right “E Fiene”. Housed in a weathered wood gilt edged frame with linen liner. SIZE: 12″ x 16″. CONDITION: Minor inpainting, very good. 9-97394 (4,000-6,000)
