*DWM 1914 COMMERCIAL REICHS-GENDARMARIE LUGER & HOLSTER. SN 74186. Cal. 9 mm. Rare Reichs-Gendarmarie Luger with 4″ bbl, DWM scroll on front toggle link with crown “N” proof on left side of receiver and “R.G. 160” (Reichs-Gendarmarie, a militarized police brigade stationed in Alsace Lorraine) engraved on left side of frame. Left grip is unnumbered and right grip is mismatched. Accompanied by an orig unnumbered wood base magazine & black leather holster that is marked “R.G. 16” on the inside along with an orig unmarked takedown tool. A rare unit marked Luger variation. PROVENANCE: Doug Smith Collection. CONDITION: Very fine, all matching except firing pin & grips as noted above. Overall retains about 95-97% strong orig factory blue & about 50-60% orig straw colors. Grips show light to moderate war with visible wood grain showing through. Magazine is extremely fine. Crisp mechanics, bright shiny bore. Holster is fine with wear, scuffs & flaking and worn strap.
