ORIGINAL ARTWORK OF A JEWISH POLITICAL CARTOON. Appears to have been done in pastel. Signed in lower right, “N. Jubovsky. February 16, 1948”. This macabre political cartoon depicts the Englishman MacMillan providing a Mid-Eastern figure with weapons and explosives. The Mid-Eastern brandishing a Nazi medallion on his breast, holding a blood dripped saber, and around him are hordes of dead Jewish men, women and children. In the background a U.N. with barrels of “Arab oil” and a small banner “President Truman’s Twice Repeated Statement About the Immediate Admittance of One Million Jews to Palestine Oct. 4, 1946”. Nicely framed in a triple cut mat of red, white and blue. SIZE: 25-3/4”w x 19”h (image only). CONDITION: Image is strong and in very good condition. 4-50185 (850-1,250)
