*SCARCE SPRINGFIELD NATIONAL MATCH M1 GARAND. SN 5380102. Cal. 30-06. Usual configuration with 24″ bbl, marked “NM” on left side near muzzle & over chamber area, which is dated “9-54”. Gas cylinder & sights are also National Match, however op rod is not marked. Mounted in extremely fine matching walnut stock & handguards with a “P” proof on wrist and glass bedding around receiver. It has a checkered sheet metal buttplate with trap. Left side of wrist has “DCM” eagle cartouche. Accompanied by an orig short Garand bayonet marked “AFH” and “US” with a flaming bomb with an orig Fiberglas sheath. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Miller Estate Collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus. Overall retains virtually all of its orig arsenal finish to both metal & wood with fine greenish parkerizing on metal & beautiful oil finish on stock. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore.
