TWO ENGLISH TRANSFER DECORATED TABLEWARES. Mid 19th C. The first and unmarked Staffordshire example an oval reticulated bread basket with matching undertray decorated overall in the Oriental taste. The second with the impressed mark “HECULANEUM”, a Liverpool pottery transfer decorated footed soup tureen with lid, undertray and ladle. Marked in underglaze blue within a banner “STONE CHINA”. Decorated overall with rural river scenes with various buildings in the background. SIZE: Breadbasket: 5″ h x 11″ l x 6-1/2″ w; undertray 11-1/2″ l X 8-3/4″ w. Soup tureen and undertray: 7-1/2″ overall. PROVENANCE: From the private collection of Dorothy-Lee Jones. CONDITION: Both items in very good condition. 9-23341 (300-500)
