WINCHESTER MODEL 1866 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44 RF Henry. SN 129918. Standard grade rifle with 24-1/4” oct bbl, full magazine, German silver blade, Rocky Mountain front sight, mounted backwards, with a broken musket style rear sight. Mounted with nicely figured, straight grain, uncheckered American walnut with straight stock & crescent brass buttplate with trap. Serial number was observed on bottom tang with last four digits inside top tang channel of buttstock and inside toe of buttplate. Stock & forend cap have factory sling swivels. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl & magazine tube retain a mottled brown patina with a spot or two of scattered rust. Magazine band is slightly battered. Brass retains a fine, even, medium mustard patina with slightly worn edges but no battering on sideplates. Screws are slightly battered. Forearm has a short crack at left front edge, otherwise wood is sound with normal handling & use marks and retains an even, dull patina. Mechanics are fine, strong bore with moderate pitting. 4-30308 JR206 (4,000-7,000)
