HENRY MODEL 1860 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44 RF Henry. SN 8688. Standard Henry rifle with 24-1/4” oct bbl, integral magazine tube, German silver front sight blade and a reproduction 900 yard Henry ladder rear sight. Mounted with a replacement slab sawed walnut stock with brass buttplate with trap. Left side of bbl has a sling loop with a corresponding swivel in side of buttstock with no discernable “Henry bump”. Serial number is found on left side of lower tang under the wood with the numbers “88” stamped in the top tang channel of the buttstock and inside toe of buttplate. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl & swiveling sleeve have been cleaned and artificially aged over some traces of orig blue with some fine pitting on the left side at the receiver. Receiver has been polished & cleaned with some fine pitting on right sideplate. Buttstock has been artificially aged and retains most of this custom finish. Buttplate also has been artificially aged. All of buttstock screws are replacements. Lever & hammer are artificially aged over fine pitting and have the appearance of having been through a fire. Hammer will not hold in safety notch, otherwise mechanics are fine, strong bright bore with a spot or two of pitting. Baldwin Collection 4-30005 (10,000-15,000)
