*EXTRAORDINARY MAUSER BYF 41 LUGER RIG WITH TWO MATCHING MAGAZINES. SN 6965. Cal. 9 mm. Very rare Mauser Luger with 4″ bbl. This is the more rare 2nd sub-variation that has both eagle “655” and eagle “135” proofs on right receiver. It is as issued with two orig matching numbered magazines and eagle “135” proofed take down tool, in a near mint untouched “bcb 41” black leather holster that has eagle “WaA 170” proofs on back & is stamped inside flap “SMITH, JAMES F.” and again with his military serial number “16054880”. Fitted with full checkered walnut grips that are marked on inside “S/42” and eagle “WaA 655” proofs along with other inspector initials. PROVENANCE: Doug Smith Collection CONDITION: Extraordinarily fine, with all parts & both magazines matching numbered. Pistol retains over 99% orig factory blue/black finish. Grips are crisp & sharp with beautiful grain showing through. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. Holster is near mint with minor scuffs.
