SCARCE NO. 1 NEW HAVEN ARMS VOLCANIC PISTOL. Cal. 31. SN 1089. Usual configuration with 3-1/2” oct bbl with integral magazine tube. It has a pinched pin front sight & fixed rear sight. It has all brass frame with 2-pc walnut grips numbered to this pistol. Only about 850 of these little pistols were made in period 1857-1860. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Bbl & magazine tube retain 15-20% orig blue in the very sheltered areas and in the magazine tube gullets. Frame edges show light wear with a couple of minor nicks & scratches and some light hammer marks on tops of sideplates. Right grip has a small chipped toe and overall retain about 80% orig varnish with light nicks & scratches. Hammer will not retract to full cock with the lever, but will hold at full cock when retracted manually, otherwise mechanics are fine, worn pitted bore. 4-31052 JR505 (4,000-7,000)
