GROUP OF FIVE ENGLISH AND CONTINENTAL DECORATED PLATES. 18th and 19th century. 1) The first an old Chelsea example with exotic birds and insects. 2) A Copeland *garret example in the Imari pallette. 3) An unmarked plate of Imari design, possibly Copeland or Derby. 4) A Sevres soft-paste floral decorated plate with 1755 datemark. 5) A French plate, hand-painted with chickens, hand-signed on the reverse in script “BOYER, R. DE LA PAIX”. SIZE: Diameter: 8 3/4″ to 9 1/2″ PROVENANCE: From the private collection of Dorothy-Lee Jones. CONDITION: 1) Wear to gilding. 2) Very good. 3) Very good. 4) Repainted gilding. 5) Roughness to edge. 9-23346 (300-500)
