WILLIAM SHERIDAN YOUNG (American, 19th Century) “VIEW IN THE GILEAD MOUNTAINS, MAINE 1868”. Oil on canvas Maine scene shows a figure in red standing between a farmhouse and small dam. A long field is beyond leading to a tall mountain range. The house is nestled under tall green trees. Signed lower left and dated. Housed in a fine replacement gilt carved wood frame. On reverse are two Kennedy Gallery labels. Gilead, Maine and its mountains are situated on the western edge near Gorham, New Hampshire. SIZE: 15″ x 25″.
