JOHN GABLE (American, 1944-) “SPRING THAW”. Fine watercolor Maine scene shows a porch to a large house having green shuttered windows, fancy porch architectural elements and a wicker rocker having an antique patchwork quilt draped over its arms. The foreground shows the remains of heavy snow with patches of brown grass. Signed lower right. Housed in a fine gilt frame with linen matte and inner gold liner. Pencil label to reverse with title, artist and “Wiscassett, Maine”. SIZE: Sight: 25-1/2″ x 19-1/2″. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 9-99578 (1,000-2,000)
