TONY BINDER (British, 1868-1944) PORTRAIT OF MRS. STANBURY BY FIRE WITH CUP OF TEA. Oil on canvas shows an older woman seated in a Victorian red leather chair next to a blazing fire in a fancy room setting. Signed lower right “Tony Binder, 1915″. Housed in a fine antique gesso decorated gilt frame with gilt liner. NOTE: The name of the sitter was found on an old appraisal. SIZE: 14″ x 18”. PROVENANCE: Woolworth Collection (F.W. Woolworth Dept. Store). CONDITION: Some light craquelure/consolidation, otherwise very good. 9-21289 (1,500-2,500)
