*TEXAS SHERIFF USED EARLY SMITH & WESSON MODEL 39 SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 9 mm. SN 6063. This pistol was the property of Texas Harris County Sheriff C.V. “Buster” Kern. Pistol has blue finish, very early model with long extractor and checkered medallion walnut grips. A notarized statement accompanies it from Marie Kern, wife of Sheriff Kern, wherein she states that this pistol was the property of her husband and that she has given it to J. Lewis Edwards of Houston, Texas. Also included is a memo from Cletus Brown Jr. of Mossleigh Farm, Brookshire, Texas advising “Lew” that the affidavit signed by Mrs. Kern regarding this pistol was enclosed. Also accompanying is the orig envelope postmarked Sept. 3, 1991. CONDITION: Extremely fine, near new. Retains virtually all of its bright orig factory finish to metal & grips.
