RARE RENAISSANCE REVIVAL ROSEWOOD SOFA TABLE. Circa 1860. The rectangular top with molded serpentine edges and hinged demilune leaves, above the conforming frieze fitted with molded drawer and opposing sham drawer, raised on four molded, reeded, and fluted columnar supports, joined to a central column with applied rosettes, surmounted by a large ‘urn’ form central finial. The whole raised on outswept scrolling legs, terminating in carved leaftips. SIZE: 29″ h. x 29-1/2″ w. closed/40″ w. open x 26″ d. PROVENANCE: From an extensive private Gulf Coast collection. CONDITION: Very fine condition overall, with repolished old surfaces. Top with old veneer shrinkage cracks. 9-93333 (1,500-2,500)
