THREE WEDGWOOD PLATES OF ORIENTAL DESIGN. Circa 1871-1872. A pair of octagonal transfer decorated plates with a molded diaper work border with impressed mark on the reverse and additionally marked with the retailers backstamp “JOHN MORTLOCK POTTERY GALLERIES LONDON”. The third, a round example, similarly decorated with impressed mark and date stamp. The transfer decorations are of wood block prints. SIZE: 9″ dia. PROVENANCE: From the private collection of Dorothy-Lee Jones. CONDITION: Each with wear to transfer decoration, otherwise structurally sound. 9-23266 (400-600)
