L. W. DOXEY (18th/19th Century) SHIP PORTRAIT OF THE “CLAIRTON”. Oil on canvas ship portrait of a red and black hulled single stack steamer. White deck house with several life boats. Tall mast at front and back. Name of ship is on front bow. Ship moves from right to left through a bluish/green ocean. Seagulls fly in foreground and off stern. Housed in a molded edge wood frame. SIGHT SIZE: 15” x 34”. CONDITION: Painting is presently not stretched and could use a cleaning. No tears or rips. 9-94166 (750-1,250)
