SCARCE COLT COP & THUG SPUR TRIGGER REVOLVER. Cal. 38 Colt. SN 21853. Blue finish with 6” bbl, half moon front sight with etched panel on left side “NEW POLICE 38” and 2-line address. It has a spur trigger with square butt, hard rubber grips with the figures of a policeman arresting a bad guy with a knife. Only about 4,000 of these little revolvers were made in period 1882-86. CONDITION: Good. Overall retains 40-50% orig blue, mostly in sheltered areas with the balance a light, blue/gray patina. The etched panel, while showing wear, is completely legible. There are a few spots of pitting on bbl with fine pitting on cyl & frame. Left grip has a couple of repaired breaks and both sides show heavy wear. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. 4-60386 (2,750-3,750)
