**WW11 MG-42 MADE BY STYER (C&R). SN 3763. Cal. 8mm Mauser. 22-1/2″ bbl. Manufactured 1944 by “bnz” (Maget). This gun contains Nazi-era 5744 numbered bolt with bolt head “clc” and includes bolt-stop device inside. Flip up anti-Aircraft sight bar is present on rear sight. Bi-pod is Nazi marked “kur 44”, without adjustment knob between legs. Bbl in gun is marked “cyp” (Spreewerke, Berlin). This weapon appears fully functional, firing mechanism operates when cycled by hand. Reciprocating spring is strong. Rails are in good condition. PROVENANCE: A. William Vallerand Collection. CONDITION: Overall condition and appearance about 90% strong blue thinning to patina in places. Handgrip is excellent, light brown, grips excellent, buttstock has some slight handling marks, longitudinal cracks and, with what appears to be orig German field repair around stock to hold it together. Buttstock remains very serviceable and has a handsome deep grain figure. Bore in bbl is strong with sharp lans and dark grooves. Muzzle and booster also in good condition, with light carbon build-up. It should clean up well with some effort. Mechanism parts are in fine condition. This is an early Styer made M-43 with no letter suffix to the serial number, and this, coupled with its attractive condition makes this an ideal addition for any class III collection. 4-39877 JWK209 (20,000-25,000)
