*ALVIN WHITE ENGRAVED SMITH & WESSON REGISTERED MAGNUM DA REVOLVER. Cal. 357 Magnum. SN 50125. Registration #1813. Spectacular Alvin White engraved & gold, silver (and possibly some platinum) inlaid revolver with 6-1/2” tapered rnd bbl, McGivern gold bead partridge front sight with full length matted rib, rnd matted top strap with adjustable rear sight and humpback hammer with fine checkered spur and serrated sides. Fitted with after-market, old, stag grips. Overall it is engraved with about 85% coverage fine, intertwined, foliate arabesque patterns with punch dot background and generous amounts of gold wire inlay including completely around flutes in cyl. Right side of frame has a spectacular raised gold fox stalking a raised gold rabbit in a farm field scene with barn & silo in background, all executed in spectacular detail. Mr. White’s “AA WHITE” silver cartouche is stamped in the right front strap under grip.Ex. Gary Garbrecht Collection. CONDITION: Very fine plus, all matching except grips which are replacements. Overall retains virtually all of its spectacular custom finish with the cyl slightly purple. Appears to be unfired since finishing. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. 4-30070 (7,500-10,000)
